Happy Saturday! I figured it was due time to finally post King’s nursery! Seeing how he is already fast approaching his first birthday!

King’s nursery isn’t a very large room, but it seems to work perfectly for our little guy. He does co-sleep with us, so the crib is a little for looks if I am being honest! But I have loved having this room to rock him, keep his baskets of toys in, store his clothing, and just come in here and enjoy all the pretty natural light that comes streaming through the window.

 

When creating this nursery for him, I didn’t necessarily want a “theme” but more of a cohesive look. I love baby elephants (his piggy bank) and giraffes so you will find lots of those in his room as well! I went with a classic color scheme of blues, whites, and gold. I wanted his room to be whimsical but still very much a boy’s room. I knew I wanted some sort of name sign above his bed, I love the personalization it brings. I felt like there still needed to be something a little more above the crib so added in a garland. After purchasing the garland, I got the star sheets and “twinkle, twinkle” art work to help that flow together.

I wanted to keep the decor fun but simple. I love his dreamy and sweet nursery!

His bedding I got far in advance when Pottery Barn Kids was having an awesome sale, and it helped me to figure out the direction I wanted to go with this room. I find it helps to have something to plan the room around, whether that’s a piece of artwork, furniture, or even a decorative pillow. Inspiration can come from anywhere!
