Family R&R

Hello lovelies! Hope you guys are all having a great Summer and making memories to boot. This Summer has been an amazing and fast paced one with a active little girl to entertain! We hadn’t “done” much this summer in way of traveling and special activities. We are such home bodies, and for the most part don’t do a ton of traveling, especially since we have a little one now. Excuses, excuses…. 😉 But seeing how we have about zero shopping around here, live in a fairly small city, and haven’t really had a chance to go on a family vacation in our new mini van (I don’t know what people have against mini vans, we have the Honda Odyssey and love it!)… Anyways, it was time to get out for a little change of scenery. I also wanted to start the tradition of doing family road trips. Some day we will have more kids and I think it’ll be fun to have pictures and memories from all the places we went together. Scarlet did pretty well too for being in the car for four hours with minimal stopping!

We didn’t do anything crazy or fancy, just rented a cute house, splurged with goodies from whole foods, watched movies in bed, ate on the balcony, enjoyed sunsets, played at parks, went shopping, all slept together in the king sized bed. But I think it really is the little things. We got to get out and do something that gave us a little space from our regular day to day life. Which isn’t all that bad, but you know what I mean! 😉
