My little princess girl had her first birthday on Saturday! I can’t believe it’s already come and gone! She still isn’t officially one for a couple more days, so I’m kinda still in denial about her being so big already!
I had been planning her 1st for a while and had a box of decor building up in the garage for the past couple months! I ordered and made lots of cute decorations and daydreamed about a outdoor garden party….but it ended up raining!! I was really bummed at first…but we made light of it and just decorated indoors. We had the party at my in-laws farmhouse where they have a big porch, so it was a fun indoor/porch party. Not the blue skies and bright natural light that I had envisioned for pictures, but it was really fun regardless! I had to remind myself, the only thing that mattered that day was celebrating our baby-Scarlet! And with family, friends, cake, gifts and LOTS of attention we did exactly that!
We love you so much little munchie!
Scarlet had so much fun at her party! Between all the family members passing her around exclaiming how darling she was, to the little kids running around and making her excited, it really was the perfect combo for her!
She cried when I put her in her highchair, but then got surprised when a big ol’ cake was placed in front of her! She looked at it, me, and then gave a huge grin! She tried to “blow” when I showed her how, but I ended up blowing out the candle right before her little hand tried to grab it. She spent several minutes licking off the frosting and nibbling on the berries. It took a while for her to “dig” in, but she was fairly dainty about the whole thing! I actually was able to save most of the cake afterwards! haha! Daddy gave her a chocolate cupcake after we took the cake away, he thought since it was smaller she might eat more, but at that point I think she had her fill! Needless to say the cupcake ended in a big mess, with her playfully feeding pieces to Grandpa. I think we’ve had enough cake for a while…
Paleo cake recipe here I substituted maple syrup for honey!

I had fun doing DIY’s for the rest of the decor, as well as utilizing wedding decor and items we had around!
Having a little girl is way too fun!!
Thanks for stopping by!
