Little Scarlet girl is already eleven months old! ahh! A little late with the update due to being out of town, and then getting slammed with a nasty flu. I can remember deciding how I wanted to document each month when she was born, and how I laid her out on her blanket with the “1” and how she was so tiny in the middle of it! Now she is tall and wiggly, and usually destroys the flower arrangement! So amazing how each month there are all these gradual changes that turn into your baby becoming more and more of a toddler, before you know it you have sent out the invites for their first birthday!
New Tricks- She is picking up on more sign language. She has really had the nursing sign down for a long while, but I never really was consistent enough with the other signs. She had been pointing and simply whining for things (more bites, a sip of water, something I was holding, etc.) So I decided that we really need to be more consistent with using signs with her to avoid the whining and teach her a better way to communicate. Also, it is the cutest thing seeing her little brain work when she is trying to remember what sign to use! Her little hands doing it are also so adorable…I could die! She is standing well on her own, and took her first few steps today!!! I know it’s only a matter of time though before she’s running through the house…I taught her how to “smell” flowers so now she picks them and sticks them up my nose and cracks up. Her other new thing is to sing “nigh night” when she is tired! So cute!
Growing- She hasn’t had a growth spurt in a couple months, she is still sticking around 19.2 pounds and just under 30 inches tall. Some people comment she seems so big, others say she is tiny. I guess it’s that whole tall but thin thing she has going on. She is size 12 month clothing and size three diapers. She can fit into smaller and bigger sized clothes depending on the brand/item. She is nursing all throughout the day still, and occasionally wakes up at night to nurse. Although that is happening less and less. She is eating with us three meals a day as well. She hates “baby” food and prefers small bites of meat, veggies, fruit, applesauce, yogurt, or smoothies.
Sleeping- We went on a trip to Seattle, and then got the flu and spent all day snuggling so her sleep schedule got kinda thrown off. We are getting back into routine though, where she seems to sleep best with. Still two naps a day and 12 hours at night. I joke the key to keeping her happy is letting her sleep and never letting her get hungry.
Personality- She is the same sweet little hammy girl she’s been months previous! Always giggling at our antics and trying out her own. She is turning into more of a daddy’s girl. They love to play and goof around together. She loves going places, seeing people, and just getting to experience the world. Playing outside is her absolute favorite! She seems to warm up to people with a “sure of themselves outgoing attitude” the most quickly. Really over the top people kinda make her uneasy though. She gets shy sometimes and will burrow into us, usually when she is sleepy and around unfamiliar people. She is a very happy baby and loves to be the center of attention and have adults play on the ground with her. She loves other babies and little kids, and will always give them kisses. She goes for what she wants and always seems to know what that is!
She is our whole world!
Thanks for stopping by!
How old are your little ones and how often do you take posed pictures of them? I feel like I am always snapping candid photos at home and about with my phone, but it’s also really fun to dress her up and practice with our DSLR camera too! I’m going to try my hand at some special one year photos, any tips?
