Hello! Welcome to Scarlet’s 8 month update! She is growing so fast! I love that I have this blog as a place to share, document, and use as a reference through my whole journey of being pregnant, having my sweet girl, and now watching her grow! Even if it’s just for your personal use, I really recommend finding someway to document and write down all your baby’s milestones! For me this is the perfect place, because who doesn’t get a little curious about the details and want to see cute pics? Is it just me? haha!
New Tricks- She still isn’t full on crawling, but has taken a couple little steps before flattening back down to her belly. I honestly am so surprised because she has been rocking back and forth on her knees for a good month now! She is getting around pretty quick pulling herself along though. She has been grabbing the coffee table and pulling herself up onto her knees with her little hands up on the table. So cute but it scares me a little! We are teaching her the sign for “please” because when she really wants something she just screeches/yells/growls/claps/bounces whatever she can do to communicate that she wants something we have… Never to young to have manners, right?
Growing- She is barely hitting 17 lbs, and is 27 inches long. Still wearing 6-9, or 6-12 month clothes, and size 3 diapers. She eats lots of veggie/fruit purees and the occasional meat and egg yolk pieces. She is a quick nurser, and gets so distracted if she’s not tired! She has five teeth now as well…
Sleeping- This is a big topic for me. I have changed my view so many times! Not really in a drastic way, but just trying to figure out what the best routine/ guideline for sleeping is for us. I think this has been the biggest adjustment with having a baby! I hate when she cries, but if I never let her fuss a little, I’ve come to realize she will never sleep in her own bed! I’ve adopted a middle of the road approach, not full on letting her cry it out, yet still allowing a little bit of fussing if she does wake up after I’ve already nursed/soothed/rocked/sung her to sleep then transferred her to her bed. She is actually doing surprisingly well for naps, I think she is getting more comfortable and knows that mama is always close by, even when she’s in her bed and not on me! I just want there to be a good balance. I don’t mind snuggling and sleeping with her (not one bit actually!) but I think that if she never, ever, goes into her own bed for a least a portion of her nap/nighttime then she will never get used to it.
Personality- Our little firecracker! She is such a ball of energy. Busy, busy, busy! Loves playing on the floor, and getting into everything possible still. She also needs lots of being held/in the ergo time though! Loves her mama and daddy. Obviously! 😉 and Is “reaching” for people by playfully lunging out of our arms and towards whoever she wants to hold her. At church she was doing this to strangers! haha. She will also go back and forth between Arnie and I about five times in a row. Little girly will jump if we catch her doing something she knows she’s not supposed to do, like playing with the cords! haha.
I love my Scar baby so! <3
Thanks for stopping by! Any of you have littles around the same age? Leave a comment of something cute they are currently doing!
