Scarlet turned six months old yesterday. I am a little emotional about this. Six months=half a year! That can’t be already…

 

This little munchy has grown,changed,developed, and become quite the little personality so much in the past six months! I can easily say being her mommy is the best, and I am so happy to spend each and every day with her! I feel like this update is a big one. She has so many new things she is doing!

Sitting with a little help. She will be doing really well for a while then…”oops” too far left, right, back, or face planting. I think her length makes it a little harder to keep good balance. She rolls from one end of the living room to the other, this is her main mode of floor transportation. I think it’ll be so cute when she crawls! Time to baby proof cupboards…

She continues to sign for “milk” although I always use the word “nurse”. I haven’t taught her any more signs yet, but am thinking of adding more now. I want her to get each sign down really well before moving onto the next. Any suggestions for this are appreciated!

Everything goes into her mouth. She is a taster baby for sure. Daddy is guilty of giving her licks of things. We haven’t officially started solids yet, but she gets so excited when she sees us eating or drinking something. I’ve heard neutral veggies are best to start with, what have you mama’s tried? OH…yes, she is “still” breastfeeding and that won’t be changing anytime soon!

She has developed a little bit of sass… She will scrunch her nose up and whine when she is annoyed with something and be quite adamant about what she wants. Her personality is a sweetheart half the time and a bit of a stinker the rest of the time! She is a very hands on baby so she is always reaching and grabbing for all things when we are holding her and trying to do stuff. She loves playing and being interactive with people. Alone time is not her favorite.

Wraps + ergo are still a lifesaver! Every mama needs these items. Seriously.

She has now decided that she is a binky baby. She looks too stinkin’ cute sucking one too! It’s also a frequent lifesaver, we used it a ton on vacation when we were driving around a lot. It’s the little things that make having a baby easier!

At her last ped. visit she was a little over 15lbs. and 27 inches long which was the same as last month…(maybe the doctor’s measurements were a little more accurate than mine?) She is 90th percentile for height, 30th percentile for weight, and 96th percentile for her head! Our little string bean babe.

She went from being a super baby and always sleeping through the night to now waking up about 2-3 times to nurse. I go with it because she is so tiny and the extra calories definitely won’t hurt!
