Hi everyone! Hope your day is going well! I wanted to share this outfit with you guys today as well as some random thoughts on mommyhood.
One of the biggest changes of having a baby for me (besides the joy, love, and endless baby talk) is the realization that I will never be the same again. I’m not just talking body, even though that definitely has some new functions as well! Emotionally and physically there is a difference that takes place that can never be undone. I will always feel a piece of my heart is outside of my body after having my sweet little girl. That independent feeling of being a person without another little person attached to you is gone. I love taking care of and doting on my princess, but it’s so easy to feel like a deflated balloon after investing so much into someone else.
Any of you mamas relating yet?
Being a stay at home mama I have learned a few things in the past couple of months that have helped me continue living life happily and effectively while juggling that little munchkin.
1. It’s okay to have cozy days were you don’t get dolled up…but it is important to make time for yourself to feel pretty at least a couple times a week. It took me a while to get this down…I didn’t feel like getting ready very much for that first adjusting month. Now I enjoy curling my hair and putting on a bit of lipstick…I’m a mama, but I can still be cute.
2. Have a routine but don’t marry it. Routines can make life easier. I love when all my tasks and chores just get done on time. But…I have learned it is important to be flexible. Having a baby means things don’t always go according to planned. Its okay if the laundry sits in the basket unfolded for an hour while you get your baby to take a nap. It’s okay if dinner is on the table a little bit later because someone wanted to be held and bounced instead of being put in the swing. The tasks and chores will always be there, and they will eventually get done. Enjoy the moments with your baby, and don’t feel like you should be doing something else.
3. Don’t stress-this kinda goes along with the above. Have a relaxed attitude and things usually fall into place with half the amount of effort. I’ve learned to stop thinking about how everything is going to work out and just go with the flow. If you have a well stocked diaper bag and some extra sparkly lip gloss you can conquer just about anything 😉
4. Be comfortable and savvy with nursing in public. At first this was a scary topic for me, how was I supposed to manage that with a squirming and hungry baby who didn’t understand the concept of waiting or being covered first? This is something that comes with time, but it is an essential thing to master! I am still working on it. Having a nursing cover has helped immensely. Also, don’t be afraid to ask for a certain seat in the restaurant, or to use a fitting room while shopping for a comfortable nursing place. There is usually a chair, bench, or patch of grass where you can set a blanket in public places for you to sit and feed that hungry little babe! Don’t worry about what other people think, babies gotta eat too.
I could keep adding to the list, but I think these four things have helped me the most so far! I hope some of you could relate and benefit from this post! I love hearing other mama’s advice and experiences so don’t be afraid to comment! 🙂

Hi Caitlyn! Im a stay at home mum and our babies are just 1 day apart. I can totally relate to how you feel. There will always be chores left undone and we just cannot be too hard on ourselves. After all, happy mummy = happy baby! 🙂
Would like to ask what kind of clothes do you wear to nurse in public? I find that nursing wear often looks quite frumpy and not very stylish. Would you be able to do a post on this? :p Thanks!
