Hi lovelies! My little Scarlet Ava is 1 month old today. I thought I’d give a little update on her/our little family of three. First off, newborns change so much every week! I feel like she’s already so different from the little baby I held in my arms the night she was born. Which already makes me a little sad because I know they grow so so fast! But mostly I am overjoyed with her growing and being healthy. It’s just in a Mama’s nature to want to keep them tiny forever I guess 😉 She is now 9 lbs. 14 ounces, and 23 1/2 inches long! She’s our string bean baby. She is starting to get tiny little rolls on her arms and legs though!
Our nicknames for her include little bug, buggy, bub, princess, baby dolly, and froggy when we are changing her diapers (because she moves her little legs like a little frog) Basically we come up with new ones all the time but the most commonly used one is bug. Our love bug 🙂
She is wearing size 1 diapers and 0-3 month clothing. Which I think is pretty average for a one month old. Her personality is already so cute and I can not wait to see how it changes and progresses as she gets older. The first week of her life she barely cried at all. So we naturally thought we had the world’s easiest baby… But now she has proven to us that she can really exercise those vocals when she wants to! Haha. I think overall she is probably considered a pretty easy baby. I am still learning what she likes best and what to do to keep her happy and soothed when she does get fussy. She is a very alert baby and likes to be out and about a lot. She likes a lot of stimuli and gets agitated if we just sit at home all day.
She sleeps usually six hours through the night so I count myself lucky! She also loves to eat and really keeps me on my toes as far as that goes. Arnie and I are adjusting to life with a  baby, and getting used to juggling our normal routines and taking care of a newborn. It isn’t always easy, but I think after a couple of weeks we found a new kind of normal, which sometimes means eating dinner at eight and doing laundry at midnight. It all works out though, and I think it’s really important to put baby first and just enjoy this precious time in life.
We are completely in love with her to say the least. I am loving every aspect of motherhood and still am in awe that she is mine!
I hope you all enjoyed this post, I plan on doing a monthly update each month on Scarlet. Let me know if there is anything you would like to see in the next update!
