Hi lovelies. I am writing in bed on a Sunday afternoon still in pj’s. Scarlet is laying next to me sucking on her cute toes. Not even five months yet and my dolly is teething like crazy, and I wanted to share with you all what has helped with that so far! So many great ideas and advice to be shared, but I know each baby is different and may have different needs. This is what has worked for us!
Lots of naps…the DockATot has made that so much easier on me! Fussy, clingy, and tired are the words I think of to describe the joy’s of teething… Once I do get her to sleep she likes to be held and snuggled endlessly. Which is fine (I actually love it!) But it is nice to be able to put her in something and actually have her stay asleep if I need to do stuff while she naps. The DockATot is a life saver! It makes her feel snug so she doesn’t immediately wake up when I put her in.
Little bit of a spendier item, but so worth it. Bought it for a portable bed for an upcoming trip, but have been using it every day at home!
Also, there are cute covers you can buy and other print options. Might need to snag a cute cover (or two) myself. Shop here.
Essential oil diffuser, gentle baby essential oil, and Hyland’s Teething Tablets! I love natural remedies. I found diffusing lavender, gentle baby, or peace and calming really help at bedtime and nap time for winding down and relaxing all of us. The essential oils that I use are Young Living. I also will mix some gentle baby with coconut oil and give her a light foot rub. A little massage always calms her and is a fun way to bond. You can buy the oils here or here.
Hyland’s teething tablets are a great alternative to baby Tylenol or whatever other pain medication you might use. I feel so good about only giving her things that are natural, you can’t overdose on, and that actually work! I pop two teething tablets in her mouth whenever it seems like she needs them and they help a ton! You should be able to find these at your local health food store.
We painted our toes matching pink. Slowing down and just spending time with her really has helped comfort her in the past few days. Plus painting nails is the fun of having a girl! We used piggy polish. Natural as mud. Non toxic, fast drying, odorless, and most importantly safe for babies! You can buy them here.
She has also loved chewing on her fruit shaped teething toys. We got ours here.
Baby Lit books are the cutest! Oh my. Been doing lots of reading and snuggling. We bought ours from a local book store, but I have found them on Amazon as well.
And here they are are…three little baby teeth!
I hope some of you Mama’s found this helpful if you have a teething babe on your hands. I would love to hear what works for you as well! A couple things I wanted to try and haven’t yet are, wool teething booties and Baltic Amber teething necklaces!
Thanks for stopping by!
